When people are buzzing around Orlando and reach out to me for a coffee shop recommendation Vespr Coffeebar is normally the first thing that comes to mind. Maybe it’s biased at this point, after all it was the shop that first introduced me to something better than a Starbucks latte, but I stand by it being one of the best shops in Orlando.
I’ve been going to Vespr for around four years. The first time I went was when my boyfriend and I were hovering around in the “just friends” territory and we sat in a corner sipping lattes and chatting while pretending there wasn’t insane chemistry between the two of us. That first time there has me hooked. It’s wild to think how much of my development into an adult happened in that shop. I sat at the counter and applied to Florida State, I did countless art projects sitting at tables scribbling out ideas with colored pencils, I’ve studied for final exams, I reunited with friends, I did applications to internships and now I’ll likely be doing applications for jobs there too. So yeah, I have a bit of a bias when it comes to Vespr. What can I say; I’m truly just a sentimental sap. While things in the shop have changed from when I was just a 16 year old still trying to figure out what her next steps were going to be one thing has stayed the same: QUALITY.

Whether you’re ordering a pour over of one of their hand picked single origins a classic latte or one of their themed over the top masterpieces the drinks at Vespr never fail to impress. One look at any of their social media will show you just now much care goes into what they create. Their current list of specialty drinks are themed around space exploration and they will blast you off into outer space when you give them a try. Each one crafted to look as good as they taste.

Their signature lattes are just as good as they’ve always been. Whether you get them with whole milk or almond milk the taste is always on point. A unique favorite of mine that they do is the bourbon maple latte. The syrup is made in house and you really get the smoky sharp taste of the bourbon coming through to take the flavors to the next level. If you want something a little more classic I tend to gravitate towards their Madagascar Vanilla latte. It’s subtly sweet and absolutely addicting.

If you aren’t into sweet drinks then their single origins are always a winner. Sometimes a good cup of black coffee is all you need, and the ones they offer always have complex flavors that go perfectly with a rainy evening and a good conversation.

Their coffee isn’t the only thing that is absolutely quality though. The people they hire always have good personalities and are always ready to help out a customer if they need it. Like I mentioned earlier, I used to sit at the main counter and write essays, applications, and work on art projects. I’ve chatted with so many of the Vespr baristas both there and just ordering my next drink. They are welcoming and lovely and it always makes me happy to return. It adds to the wonderful aesthetic that has been curated there since the beginning, a clean simple design paired with excellent coffee and good people. What else could you need?
